18) How Our
Island Government Works
The functions of States Departments cover the entire range of public services, and affect the lives of everyone in the island. This course, which will be led by the Departments’ Senior Officers, will explore the mandates, policies and work of six of them. The remaining Departments will be covered next year.

20) ECONOMIC VIEWPOINTS OF

This course seeks to communicate the essence of Guernsey’s economy, expressing different viewpoints from year to year. Having considered the ‘Big Issues’ in 2009, the course will look in more detail at how the States works financially, and at a number of new ‘industries’ for Guernsey, with a series of appropriate presentations by Senior Officers and proprietors.
