In response to an upsurge in interest in vegan food, we are running an eight-week Vegan Cookery course with Julie Baker. Julie is an experienced professional vegan chef who has been involved in local vegan ventures. This is our first course to be held at the Styx centre in St Peter’s, where there are excellent facilities.
Increasing numbers of people are moving toward vegan diets due to health, animal welfare, or environmental concerns. Vegan diets tend to be rich in nutrients and low in saturated fats. Research suggests that the diet can improve heart health, protect against cancer, and lower the risk of type 2 diabetes.
The course will take the form of demonstrations with comprehensive recipes and handouts provided.
